The Misener Foundation
The Misener family is passionate about learning and STEM education, and in 2016 we formally established The Misener Foundation as a vehicle for supporting STEM-focused organizations through grants and volunteer work. The Misener Foundation's co-chairs are Jay and Clark Misener, who especially appreciate the importance of global challenges, having visited 25 countries on five continents.
Jay Misener is a senior (Class of 2020) at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology (TJ). He serves as an officer of the TJ Astronomy Club; Captain of the TJ Swim and Dive Team; and a member of the Spanish Honor Society. Jay swims for the Nation's Capital Swim Club. For the Potomac Valley Swimming organization, he is a Scholar-Athlete and serves on the adult-led Officials Committee. He also is a Junior Coach for the Great Falls Rapids Swim Team, Double Black Diamond skier, and Washington Nationals Fan.
Clark Misener is an eighth grader at Cooper Middle School, where he is a member of Cooper's Science Olympiad Team. Clark is an Ambassador for the USA Science & Engineering Festival, and serves as a volunteer for Science Buddies. Clark also swims for the Nation's Capital Swim Club and Great Falls Rapids Swim Team and, like Jay, is a Double Black Diamond Skier and Washington Nationals Fan.
